Applications for the American Cancer Society ABOA Chicago are now open!
ABOA brings together emerging leaders who are passionate about making a difference in the fight against cancer. As we continue to grow the impact of ABOA, we’re excited to introduce a new application and engagement process designed to create a more meaningful experience for our members.
This year, ABOA is placing a greater emphasis on leadership, engagement, philanthropy and connection. Members will have opportunities to get involved through events, networking, fundraising, volunteer experiences and committee engagement—all while helping advance the American Cancer Society’s mission.

Following the application period, selected applicants will be invited to an interview to review their application.

Application period is from September 1st – December 1st annually.

2027 ABOA Membership Application
REQUIREMENTS:
Ambassadors are expected to raise a minimum of $1,500 during their term (calendar year). At least $1,000 of the fundraising commitment must directly support one of the ABOA Core Areas: Chip Away at Cancer Golf Outing, or an Individual Fundraising Page. Qualifying support may include ticket or foursome sales, sponsorships and fundraising pages totaling $1,000. The other $500 can be supported through donated goods & services for the ABOA initiatives. Other ACS programs including endurance events, will not count towards the $1,000 fundraising commitment, but will count on your total impact to ACS.
Attend at least 3 board meetings throughout the year.
EXPECTATIONS:
1. Serve as a community ambassador on behalf of the society
2. Actively participate in ABOA incentives and opportunities to engage within the Chicagoland community.
3. Volunteer for at least one ACS event or ABOA outing
4. Solicit Sponsorship & ticket sales to support ABOA incentives.
